The New Rock Musical, Soul Searching, plays at The New York Musical Theatre Festival from September 15-23
Black Box Entertainment is currently producing The New Rock Musical Soul Searching in preparation for Off-Broadway and Broadway. This entirely sung-through story tells of a thirty year-old single woman's ongoing quest for her soul-mate. It was noted in the New York Times and NY Theatre Experience, and ran Off-Off-Broadway for seven months. Now, with a tight-knit cast of six and accompanied by a four-piece rock band, Soul Searching's current "in concert" incarnation appears regularly at renowned venues such as as Daryl Roth's D-Lounge, DR2 Theatre, Drom and Bowery Poetry Club.
Generations

Also in production is the ongoing, all-kids rock musical workshop Generations, which started last July as a BergenPAC Musical Theater Workshop. Featuring a pop/rock band and an electrifying cast of fourteen Broadway-bound singing actors and actresses between the ages of nine and eighteen, Generations is the story of a teenage girl and her grandfather who learn to embrace their differences.
In Progress
Currently in progress is Matt Okin & Avi Kunstler's next rock musical, Returning, which explores the further adventures of Brenda from Soul Searching. Also in the early stages of development is a a brand new untitled interactive musical comedy - hot on the heels of A Match Made In Manhattan, The Interactive Jewish Wedding Experience - this time featuring both adult actors and rising professional children performers.
New play readings in prestigious Manhattan venues are planned for late Fall. Dates to be announced.
